Some recipes will call for the use of banana leaves as lining or wrapping for baking or cooking. You can get banana leaves straight from the trees or at the market sold in bundle but you can’t use those right away. You need to give them a good rinse and wipe dry then you need to soften the leaf so that it becomes pliable and easier to work with. Does your leaf have tears?
